Default Maint required light coming up

Hi Guys ,

Is the maintenance required light coming up and blinking like 6-7 times then going away is normal when you start the car? I had the car for 5400 miles and cant for the life of me remember if the light came up before , due to my height I dont really see the bottom row of lights on the dash.

anyway just wondering if its normal or if I should take it to the dealer.

Thanks so much in advance.

That light is not important, its simply telling you its time for an oil change or some sort of other scheduled maintainance. It is just a mile counter since the last time it was reset so if you're up to date on everything simply reset it by holding the trip-reset button button down while starting the car until it stops blinking and goes off. Have you read your owner's manual yet? Lots of good info in there.

it is blinking because it knows you have not read your owner's manual. read it, and the light will go away.
