Default Maisto Model

I picked up a 1:18 scale Maisto model a little while back, and last night I took a little closer look at it. It appears to be a hybrid. The steering wheel is on the LHS but what appears to be the Engine Start button is in the middle area of the dash. it's like they put the European version of the dash on a car with an American interior. Also, in the engine compartment they have the brake master cylinder on the RHS and the battery and fuse block on the LHS. Anyone else notice this? At least it's RED

Yes,
My silver 1:18 model is the same. However, I have a 1:50(?) 'pull-back-n-go' maisto that has the button in the correct place. Strange how the less detailed model is more accurate.

The 1/18 is sort of ass-backwards, isn't it?

It was produce in Japan for that market originally, and then they did a quick convert of the steering for the US market. Auto Art's is an all US version.

I really have never looked that close to the Maisto but I do have some pics here of an AutoArt and Maisto side by side!

Maisto on the LEFT and AutoArt on the RIGHT. . .

My Maisto is the same way. I noticed the differences right away and just thought it was really odd. Then someone posted about the model originally being a JDM one and Maisto just moving the steering wheel to make a US one.

The AutoArt has the RHD door! Look at the window and mirror controls location. It is correct on the Maisto.
