299 cars? That's insane! Wonder what the fella did for a living previously to allow him to enter into the most ideal retirement I could imagine
He was in the airline industry. Think JPL/Boeing/Ball

He sold his "regular" house last year, and bought a small house on 1.5 acres, 2 car attached garage, and this HUGE storage/shop/garage area.

The area he lives in is a community where a bunch of friends got together and made houses with hangars for their personal airplanes

August 7

Today was a long drive day. About 850 miles straight, denver to Vegas. Finally some curves on the road. Since western PA, I have been driving on straight boring roads. Vail, Aspen were gorgeous. Loved the state of Colorado. Found this interesting rest stop name

Stopped in Vail to check it out and get some gas. I come out to the car, seeing it surrounded by little kids! Gas station stop turned into fun 30 minutes, about questions of how fast it goes, and does it burn out. HAHA!

Here is me inside the gas station, taking pics of the crowd:

The drive through the southern part of Colorado, into Utah was gorgeous. Loved the scenic color changes of Utah, the mountains all changing colors to red rocks, light brown and dark brown in places. It was truly scenic.

Then on to the point of Entry to Arizona, and my first meeting with the police in 4500 miles..........

Good, glad the cop story will be included. It's like you're writing a tv show, leaving a cliff hanger at the end to bring us all back

Driving through Utah and enjoying the scenary and doing 80mph, and enjoying my own business. Basically it was me and all the truckers. I didn't speed, because fellow Las Vegas Lotus owner told me Utah is pretty strict.
A quick pic in Utah

No issues. Then just passed

One officer walks up to the passenger side of the car, while the other officers are standing behind their car, guns drawn! I have my arms on the steering wheel, windows down, car shut off.
