Default maximum drop on coilovers?

Lets say somebody got a set of bilstein coilovers for the s2k and wanted to drop the car. He wants to drop it the increase handling and not reduce comfort (although most coilovers are stiffer, the bilsteins seem to be softer and not reduce comfort).
I was told nothing more than 1"- 1.5" max is the reccommended drop for best handling. IS this true?

You can go as low as you want. There's not best setting because all settings varies to other s2k driver's personal preference. The lower you go the more camber you can. If you don't want to wear down the tires quickly so don't go too low.

IMO, for your street setup you can lower the car about 1.5-2.0 inches and do the European spec alignment afterwards and you will be satified the way it handles and the way it looks.

But if you lower too much, and the shocks are hitting the bumps stops, then your car will handle like shit. right?
