Ice would also make the wax harden, and easier to come off.

It's not melted. It has been "polished."

This is a common symptom on older s2000s, but a 2007 going through a carwash will get it way faster.

What happens is most people forget our top is essentially plastic. It's made of very thing vynil threads, which technically, is platic. Ask any 2000-2003 owner to look at their top, and they will all see shiny spots. Those spots are from where the plastic was "smoothed" out, almost to a polished degree, leaving what looks like, a melted surface. While our tops are possible to melt, you probably just accelerated the process by going through the automatic brushes.
i dident take it into the machines it was hand washed and waxed so im curious how it would smoothen by touch?

Maybe you had some bird crap on your top, and the guy scrubbed like a madman?

Where did the melted wax come from? If it is wax, try goo gone(citrus based) to get rid of it. Should dissolve the wax without hurting the top.

that seems like a strange spot for wax to get on and "melt."

i hope you can figure out what it is though.

I think the you take it to the place that tinted your windows, and discuss it with them. What was your contract with them... I'm sure they've got some sort of insurance to cover when they make mistakes like this.

Well there you go. I knew it wasn't a buffer or wax.
