I love my S, but I have to argue this comment: The 04-05' Mazdaspeed Miata is as fun as my S, I own both. It's not as fast on top end, but 0-130 it is a blast, and still has the classic Miata feel and handling (after removing the stock Racing Harts and skinny tires). After intake and exhaust+ tune it will smoke an I/E/T S 0-100. I do like my S more, mainly because of the bad-ass engine note and 9k redline, but I won't knock on the MSM either. An NC Miata is a different story: I wouldn't own ANY NC, mods be damned. I can't stand the looks of the 06+ Miatas...

^^^ Haha. I know a lot of people that hate the look of the NC. I can respect that. On the other hand, I have a NC and now that NA posted above... because the NB is my least favorite in looks - even though it's technically a better car than the NA. Especially the MSM. But, I bet you that after spending lots of time around an NC, it'll grow on you. Plus, I believe it's a better car than the MSN as well. I know a few guys that have gone from MSM's to NC's and they like the NC much better. But it's all good. It's all in good fun. Cars come and go, some like this, others like that. That's why I don't bag on cars. If it was made, and bought, somebody likes it.

BTW, there's a new S a few houses down to were I live. Been driving past it on my NC the last couple of days and thinking, "Yum."

The MSM is a "collector's" Miata. They only made a hair over 5,000 of them. And it's faster than any factory Miata ever made, except for the Australian MX-5 SP, which is even more rare (100 made, total). I drove a PRHT NC, and while not bad, it wasn't, to me, nearly as good as the MSM. And wasn't even close power wise... Like you said though, to each their own! Grab an S, I guarantee you won't be disappointed. Not in 1 year or 10 years. The S is a lifer...
