Slight hump in the road, and a FYI for all. On the heels of the apparent uselessness of Brian Crower Stage 2 cams (as proven by local OGPackin), I received this PM:

" Hey, I recently got some new info on the stage 3 cams. I want to highly suggest that you don't install them at all. They lost power and there seems that there might be some interference with the pistons and valves. This is basically a recall notice.

Please ship the cams back directly to:

Brian Crower
7769 Compass Lake Dr.
San Diego, CA 92119

Please be sure to attach a note to it that you purchased it from Automotive Speed (Rashed) and your name. If you don't we cannot process your refund. I am really sorry about all this since I too expected to see some power out of them and run them myself. At least you guys wont be out of $$$. If you have any questions, just give me a call (646)739-6980 or PM me.

-Rashed

As such, the cams are going back and I'll look into Skunk2's new offerings for the F20C. I can't thank Rashed at AutomotiveSpeed enough for his support and would not hesitate to recommend him for all your S2K needs.

On a lighter note though, the SuperPro bushing package and the Tein Flex kit arrived last week so I'll be posting picks of the new parts soon!

Yeah, they are actually a viable race shock assembly for the Miata (quite the opposite in the case of S2000's). I will be swapping the front springs for 9k Swift springs (instead of the stock Tein 7k's), the rear springs will be stock 6k Teins for now. This is all subject to testing and tuning once I get the car on the tarmac however.

Do you know what the spring rates are in lb-ft?

For comparison, I'm running 700 lb-ft up front and 325 lb-ft in the rear. The shocks are way underdamped Bilsteins (Spec Miata suspension).

Anxiously waiting for the unveiling!

Certainly!

Stock Tein Flex:

Front: 7kg/mm = 391.981902 lbs/in

Rear: 6kg/mm = 335.984488 lbs/in

Alex Initial Setup

Front: 9kg/mm = 503.976731 lbs/in

Rear: 6kg/mm = 335.984488 lbs/in

Anxiously waiting for the unveiling!
Me too!
