MSRP is easy.
It is easy to get well under MSRP if you are willing to travel to Chicago or another cold-climate city. A few people have gotten their cars for $30K or less.

My friend is a hardcore Autocrosser with his Miata...I believe he said he wanted his next car to be an S2000
btw, this is Ken Motonishi if any of you Miata owners know. He's also on s2ki.com sometimes.

Real nice fellow and huge car enthusiast.

Someone do everyone a favor and kill this pointless thread. Few folks on Miata.net care what S2000 owners think of them or their car. Few people on S2ki.com care what Miata owners think of them or their car. Most of them, Miata.net and S2ki, are (oh my gosh) all growed up!!! They bought what they wanted/could afford/bumped into/etc. etc. The VAST majority of folks on Miata.net and S2ki are mature, dyed-in-wool enthusiasts who love roadsters, handling, performance, braking, and want just a few freakin' monents, unhassled, driving in the sun, exchanging the air they breathe for a several more monents on this planet before they slip into the cosmis abyss. Give it a break already.

TO EACH HIS OWN - FOR WHICH I THANK GOD! THE ALTERNATIVE WOULD BE BORING, EVEN IF EVERYONE WERE ISSUED S2000's.

DooDoo? I think that the obvious differences between the 2 cars is clear. Personally, I prefer the Miata and know that turbo and miata= nice. I have seen a few s2k's and find them to be a bit less classic and a bit too big. While I can afford an s2k, I won't...I already have a RWD 2 seater that hangs.

Why is it necessary to belittle someone else's preference in cars? I've owned an s2k and this may come as a shock to some of you, but it's NOT the most envied or best car on the road.

I was never a big fan of the Miata until I went on their 5th annual hangover run (approx 133 cars). They were kind enough to invite the SoCal s2k group to participate. Five of us took them up on their offer and I think I can speak for all of us...we were extremely impressed with the handling and performance of the Miata.

I've read where some owners would like to upgrade to the s2k, while others are thrilled with the Miata. I've also read on this forum, where some s2k owners would love to upgrade to the Porsche 911, but for financial reasons etc, opted for the s2k. I don't think it's necessary to claim that our car (whether it be an s2k, Miata, Porsche, etc) is the best...NONE of us have the best and more than likely never will.
