Default Mid-Brace

I was thumbing through a copy of Import Tuner and ran across a new item to stiffen up the chassis. Comptech is now making a billet aluminum mid-brace. It replaces the tubular steel brace that is under the engine and they claim enhanced structural rigidity of the chassis and weight savings. My questions are how much weight are we talking and how does it interact with the cross brace (spoon style) that works so well. That is, is it duplicitive of function or is it something that would give us new additional benefits? Anyone with experience?

PICS?

If it is billet aluminum it will have no welds, and made from one piece of aluminum. Billet is a term given to many aluminum parts, that are not truely Billet.
The mdigrappa brace IS formed from one piece (no welds) and in my opinion it is a work of art.

Unless they want only about $200 for it, it might save some weight, otherwise the weight is coming out of your pocket book, as that product could be made (not billet or one piece, but welded) for about $150.00.

My thoughts.......

Apparently it replaces the stock piece and uses the same bolts as the rear of the x-brace. It is one piece, built like the stb in the span (nice machining) and the ends are wide enough to replace the factory piece.
