Mini Air Breather/Filter

I have searched and searched and cannot find any info on these?



There was a pic a while back of one on an S

Is is something that will help/be beneficial to the car?
and does anybody have a picture of one installed?

Stuff like this is available from K&N but you wouldn't want to put this on an S2K.

BTW: they are about about 2 inches in size

It's better not to mess with the breather system. You won't get more performance and you likely will start blowing oil. These things were designed in the era of older engines that merely used a less sophisticated filter and vented crankcase gasses to atmosphere. Take a look at a twenty year old engine and it will have an upside down cup shaped thing plugged into the valve cover. This is what you'd replace with one of these filters.
