A bill has been introduced in Texas (quite some time ago) to eliminate the front plate. It has not yet passed to my knowledge, but I think is up for a vote this fall. Texans, write your congressman in support of this bill. If the bill passes, not only will there be a significant cost savings, but also state prisoners will have much more time to watch TV.

I've noticed from old photos that UK cars were allowed to paste registration numbers on the nose of the car, to avoid cluttering up the front with a plate and bracket. Is this still done?
