Why were you getting a new bumper again? The damage looks cosmetic to me, a few new panels and the car will be good.

The rear bumper was hit previously by a hit and run driver. I was getting that repaired.

I understand the damage doesn't look as bad in the pictures, like I said previously, It's much worse in person.

May I suggest that we always drive with the headlights on. silver cars are difficult to see in traffic IMO. I think its saved me more than once.

Wow dude, you've got some pretty bad luck. BTW, going by the pics there is NO WAY your car is totalled. I did $22k damage to mine (looked much much worse) and got it fixed. It's actually good as new, fixed over a year ago and no issues whatsoever.

When is the insurance company going to decide on the repair?

Get rid of that ish....

If you are a long time policy holder, get rid of it... If they realize "before starting repairs" that you will never be happy with a fix, they'll total it out around 65-70%. I would let the shop manager know you personally consider it a damaged collector's car with zero value... Make sure he knows you'll never be satidfied and that this fix wil become a thorn in his side... If they end up fixing it, just continue to find faults and eventually it will be gone.

Again, IF you are a long term ploicy holder.. If you have rough credit or a bad driver's record... you are at the mercy of the adjusters.

just my $.02.
