Man- you are lucky... the lady who hit you is a very honest and rare person. Most people would never have admitted to causing the accident in which you were involved. I had a similar accident, except my S was in the body shop for accident repair and I was driving a rental when a fool cut in front of me doing a similarly illegal left turn.

I had a lady turn right in front of my 3 month old m6 in 1988 and the entire front was crushed, frame warped, and tons of other related items damaged. The custom body shop fixed it perfectly and it handled like it did before the crash.

I recently had a buddy crash his S2k and the body shop had to wait over 3 months for most of the parts to be shipped from Japan, clear customs, etc. So be prepared for a little extra time before the car is complely repaired both consmetically and mechanically. If you have secured a quality body shop with experience in working on S2k's then you will be fine. The reduction in the value of the vehicle is minimal when the repairs are professionally done and the mechanical components are installed properly.

Good luck in you attempt to persuade the insurance company to consider your car to be totalled. Bbased on my experiences, it is not even close.

No wonder s2000 is the most expensive car to insure. I bellieve its the top 5 most expensive cars to insure competing with the Lexus IS300 and ferraris. Everyone crashes it and there isnt alot of production in the Honda S2000 line.

I've gone through a similar experience. My entire passenger side was hit by some stupid old lady that ran a stop sign. To save the BS, 2 weeks and ~8k in damages later I was in my s2k again with some pocket change from accident

You'll be doing the same thing soon enough.

Car is not totalled, turns out the panels haven't even shifted!

I guess that's a bit of good news for me, I love this car and hated the thought of losing it!

Earlier it sounded like you did want to lose it because of the accident that will appear on the vehicle's history report.

Either way, glad that everything will work out for you.
