I would mod the Cruiser. 2.5" OME lift, ARB lockers--unless it's already locked--, ARB bull bar with Warn winch, sliders.

Well, unlike the s2000, an aftermarket exhaust actually yields positive gains. Money better spent if you ask me. That's not to say there aren't so great mods to do for the S that improve its performance.

Driver mod? Have you done an HPDE day in either? If not do one and that will answer your original question.

The S2000 exhaust note is hard to get it right for some. You'll have to mess around to get a nice exotic tone, I know I did. The premise I started with was the non-resonated Super Sprint Exhaust and then went through a series of pipe change at the CAT and started out with the highest flowing first with a test pipe, then Berk Hi-flo Cat, then realize going back to OEM CAT was the way to go. Having the right amount of intake noise helps too so it sounds like a symphony
.
