Default Motor oil vs. Detergent oil (please help)

On the last page of the manual, it says the recommended oil is API 10W-30 blah blah DETERGENT OIL. I went to 2 car stores, a honda dealer, and a gas station but I couldn't find detergent oil. Instead, I bought the Castrol motor oil. I had also asked the manager at the honda dealer if it was ok and he said yes. Just wondering if anyone else already had experience with this? Is the motor oil safe for the car? I have about 1200 miles on it so far. Thanks.

I wouldn't worry about the detergent requirement ( I think most automotive blends are detergent). I used Castrol GTX 10w30 to top off the factory oil. Be sure to check your oil at every gas up. Do not top off with synthetic during break in. Honda recommends not switching to synthetic until 7500? miles. I waited until I had 10,000 miles before I switched to Mobil 1 synthetic.
