I am looking for mufflers that are fairly quiet under light load. Under full load I would like a full smooth aggressive sound. This would be on a custom exhuast with 2.75 or 3" piping. Any sound clips or video links would help me decide what I would like to do.

 

sound is determined by many factors. pipe diameter, resonators, how the piping is bent. just fo with something that suites the look you're going for and work with the piping that way. why did you want to go with that big of a piping though?

 

I plan on going turbo down the road, i havent done anything yet im just looking into it. The only look im going for is to have tips that arent huge maybe 3.5" tips. I dont like the canon look like Inividia. I will probably run a resonator because i hate drone.

Could you give me an idea of how different factors will effect the sound. Like smoothness, tone, aggressiveness etc.

 

I always say this, but it's just the truth...HKS sounds absolutely amazing. It's smooth, and it has a tone very similar to a 350Z, just louder. There's some drone, but nothing crazy...and it has a built-in resonator. Yes, it does have a similar look like Invidia (which I also used to hate) but I grew to love it. If you're going turbo, I'd recommend something less restrictive, but if you're looking for a great sounding exhaust I definitely recommend HKS.
