I was thinking more 6-7k.

1. Careless Driving
2. Leaving scene of accident. (It was near the bottom of a hill on a rainy night and I didn't want to get hit by another car. So I moved to an adjacent parking lot)
3. Failure to report accident. (They came within 5 minutes of the incident. And didn't have my phone with me.)

i would fix it and keep it. its still a clean title car so value wont be affected if fixed right.

sorry to see that,

I'd definitely rather fix it than part it out. It just comes down to whether or not it's worth it. Guess my best bet is to wait on the body shop's estimate.
Thanks for advice, I'll keep your parts in mind if it comes to it.

My initial reaction was that it was totaled as well. How much do you think I could get parting it out (ballpark)?

Go to court, likely you can get the 2nd and 3rd tickets dropped completely.

You woulda thought the misery of the accident itself, and crappy weather, would be plenty of punishment. How can it be failure to report accident if the cop is there at the scene writing the ticket! and who wants to sit in the middle of a wet road in rain with a disabled car!

Good luck.. hopefully it will be economical to fix her!

Also, I have no doubt you could make back everything and then some from the parts, since its all low mileage. But it takes a months and months, especially for the not so in demand items.. I bet the motor alone could pay for a cheap temporary car, though..

Yea, the cop was a 5 star jerk. He didn't even ask if I was ok. The first thing he asked was if I drank (which I didn't). He didn't believe me so he gave me a sobriety test, which I obviously passed. I will hear back from the body shop tomorrow (fingers crossed). If it's fixable for a fair amount I will have them fix whatever I can't do. The rest my friend said he'd help me. Thanks for your advice and encouragement, it really does help.
