Default My car makes vulgar noises......

Beautiful Virginia day - temp near 70, so I slap anouther coat of Zaino on the 'Stone, and decide to attach the convertible "boot" (cover?) and go for a spin. The cover went on OK, but as I am driving my car starts making vulgar noises - as in the form of a - let me be delicate - "wind breaking".

I figure it is the straps that attach to the seats, vibrating int he wind gusts.

So is this flatulence part of the S2000 experience, or am I am dumby?

P.S.
I VTEC'd a lot, perfected my heal and toe technique with this car, and had a flat out blast. Even went after a red LS1 Convertible, but the guy did not want to play, so I waited and passed him, tucking in just as we approached a blind curve. It was fun! The exhaust note is a little ballsier with the top down, but I need more - Mugen, bring it on!

Sounds like you had fun!

We're finally seeing some sun this afternoon too.

RR I'm pretty sure what you are hearing is the front elastic straps on the cover "humming" because of the turbulance. Several owners have stopped this by simply putting a single twist in the straps before snapping them onto the posts.

Mine doesn't make that noise, but it does rain each time I put on the boot.

Jeez, I am an ME and an EE and could not think of that trick - jeez, I must be slipping! Old geezerhood creepin up on me.

Thx for the tip - that should do it, by both making the strap tighter, and in reducing the cavitation resonance.

I'will find out - I left the top down and put the cover and my electrified mats on, and there is a huge divot where the top used to be - any cat that gets on there will not like the loose footing, nor the hi-voltage. Bwahahaha (evil laugh).

I took the car out of storage today too. About 120mi or so. She ran strong and hard, much better than I expected with 4mo old gas. (although I did use sta-bil.)

I'm drivin to work with the top down tomorrow morning - it will be 52 deg or so, so i will test the "convert mode" setting. Of course, I am sacrificial - I never turn on the heater or move the temp out of the blue until the car is fully warmed up - flash can heal - cam lobes cannot.
It's sick, aint it?
