ReedZ installed my Rick's Console cover in "maybe" 10 minutes.
I didn't have a dremel or small grinding tool to do the welded plastic tabs on the underside of the console to release the shift boot assembly. Consequently I used the 'grind it away manually' method which I went about at a leisurely pace. I suppose if I was in a hurry I could now do the whole operation in a fraction of the time.

Just a quick point to all potential purchasers: You only need to perform this step for the shift boot. For the Aus Console Cover alone there is no dremel required.

Argetni - thanks. And yes, I am enjoying the Sony but I expect it's about to be replaced again. My ever fickle stereo requirements.

I think that my 60 minute install time was due to lots of tucking and being extra careful when removing the console. The way I see it, for my first install, it was better to be extra careful than pay for broken parts due to an attention compromised install.
