My Gruppe-S experience
You know the OP purchased from you. He didn't deal with shipping or anything like that. You ship. Basically any client need only deal with one person.
YOU owe the OP and not excuses either. He put his faith and money into your pockets. Blaming someone else is unprofessional and just not a stand up thing to do. He purchased from YOU..., YOU are responsible for making him happy...,
OP good for you looks like you got them where it hurts - the pocket books. I for one will not deal with this company AT ALL! I sure hope you weren't doing a booming business on S2K's cuz looks like that is going to change.
Bad Attitude - you fail Gruppe-S

I really apologize for any inconveniences we may have caused you but we had no intention of misleading you with our initial eta. We truly were just relaying the information that our supplier was providing us. When we had initially placed the order for the hard tops we were told they were all in stock, packed and ready to ship with the hardware. We sent a driver the following day to pick everything up only to find the hard tops were not only not packed up but the hardware was no where to be found. After multiple pick up attempts and the hard tops still not being ready we began drop shipping orders directly to customers like yourself VIA Bax Global.
I again apologize for the lack of instructions but we were not provided any to include and I think you will find that most body components do not include instructions because they are designed to be professionally installed. We carry Vertex, C-west etc... and none of those companies provide installation instructions with their body parts. As for fitment I do not have an excuse but If you can provide some pictures for us to work with we may be able to improve fitment in the future, but that roof is an exact copy of the spoon hard top molded from the original and we have already had 3 other customers install this roof and they have not had any fitment issues that I am aware of.
I am not trying to make any excuses for our lack of communication, I just want you to be aware that we had no intention of insulting you or ripping you off, we made the mistake of quoting you what our supplier initially told us and both them and ourselves dropped the ball on your order. If there is anything else I can do for you just let me know.
You should do something to make the fitment right FOR HIM.
I am glad the OP posted this thread as I'll never be buying from this vendor.
It's funny, I've been reading all these posts lately about buyers having problems with the vendors on the board (HardtopGuy, Gruppe S) and I've come to the conclusion that peace of mind, and knowing that you will actually get what you paid for is worth the extra cash you shell out buying it from an established and proven company/vendor. I'd much rather pay a couple hundred extra dollars and know I am getting what I paid for than dealing with the kind of BS that I just read from this post. Is it really that much to ask for honest, prompt communication? Especially when you are dealing with $1000+ ??? As a vendor, they have an OBLIGATION to do this at the very least. Bogus tracking numbers? Disrespect? I really hope the BBB does something about this. I get pissed just reading that kind of dishonesty.
Honestly, it all comes down to this. These vendors need us (the buyers) way more than we need them. It's much easier to find places to buy items, especially knock-off shit, then for them to find people to buy the junk they are selling. We as the consumer have to make sure these places never forget this and are kept in check. We don't need to keep feeding their pockets when they give dishonesty and bad customer service. We can survive without them, they can't survive without us.
The ball is in our court. Don't let shitty vendors like this take it away...

I had a similar experience with the HFC that I ordered from them. Here's the timeline:
May 9: Ordered HFC
May 13: Inquired regarding shipping information
May 13: Received an email back stating it would be shipped in 2-3 business days
May 21: Inquired again regarding shipping information
May 21: Received an email back stating they "tried to call" me because the part was backordered. Offered me the 70mm version instead. I said no because I have the stock exhaust. Was told the 63mm version would ship in 1 week.
May 28: Left for vacation, still no part
June 8: Returned from vacation, still no part. Sent another email inquiry. Was told part had shipped.
June 9: Part Arrived.
Now this was not nearly as bad as the OP's experience, but still unnerving considering the 2-3 days I was originally told. Overall, though, the email response was immediate, and never once did anyone get emotional. I'd give my experience with them a C+. Not great, but not horrible either.

Not as bad as Hardtopguy. I ordered a Comptech reinforced diff housing a few years ago, shipped my old diff housing back, and never received my core exchange back. Not only was I out the $400, but I was also out the cost to ship it back.
The lame excuse went somewhere along the lines of he was working for a dealership, and he was going independently (if I got it correctly). I bought thousands of dollars woth of stuff from him, and basically he told me too bad. I know a lot of members have a hard-on for him, but in my opinion, he's an a$$hole . . .
