I believe you are being a bit harsh. No offense, but a decent bodyshop can make a pile of horse sh!t fit a car. And no offesne, but have you ever heard "you get what you paid for?" Knockoffs always lack the details, and by the time you piece them all together, you could almost buy the real thing. That being said, I don't really see much room for recourse with your credit card company.
Well seeing how it is not as advertised at all, did not fit the way they said it would and lacked all the hardware needed to install there is plenty of room. I'm being harsh? I was extremely courteous and patient until I was told be the president of the company if I could find it for cheaper he would give me money out of his own pocket. The constant run around, lies and lack of ownership caused this.
I hear ya. Everyone reading should learn a lesson and just get a Mugen FRP hardtop (around $3300). No company is more legit. I order parts thru a distributor thru my best friends bodyshop (did s2kpnoy's Amuse widebody, and a bunch of Fizz owned cars), and I normally quote an extra week then what I am quoted by the distributor. It may be that the distributor/manufacturer they used is not so legit. I pay a higher price thru my distributor, but he ships 2 containers a month, regardless of whether or not they are full. When I used to order J's Racing parts, I had to wait 6-9 months at times. Every time I order I amazed that I get it in just a few weeks, and always before my guy expected. The higher premium he charges is well worth the quality of service and dependability. In my position, I typically just order things for bodyshop customers (make $ on the body work/paint), or friends, so I have a minimal markup, making this option viable to me.
Basically in the future, I would recommend purchasing higher quality items, and from highly recommended vendors, even if it costs a little more. With that said, my bodyshop installed a few of these hard tops, and he knows how to alter them so they do not leak, and he can give you tips for a better installation. Send me some pics and I will try to help.

It sucks to hear about the poor customer service they gave you.
As for the top though, I had a shine top and have worked with an actual spoon mooncraft before, and they all leaked air/water somewhere - both of them. They both had those thin L brackets to hold them them to the car and required the soft top latches to attach the front portion. So you cant really blame the company for the hardware they supplied and the leaks. Weatherstripping will be your best friend for the top.

So you were unable to install the hardtop with the hardware that was provided? We looked at the pictures you provided and due to there size it was hard to detect any major flaws as far as fitment goes but I do trust your opinion.
To be fair I don't think there is anything we can say to make you happy at this point but if you really wanted to ship your hardtop back to us we will give you a full credit towards the purchase of a Brand new Authentic Spoon Hardtop.
The Spoon hardtop would be $4500 delivered to your door! and that is our cost! Just so you are aware though it will take 3-6 months to arrive from Japan and includes the exact same hardware as our kit, You will need to reuse your factory latches. We will even let you use our hard top in the mean time until the spoon hard top arrives!
Thanks!

You are comparing apples to oranges. Spoon is just as legit as Mugen and one knock off is as legit as another. If he had ordered a replica Mugen top that didn't fit he would be in the same boat.
