Default My S2000 is gone, considering a CR

Well, my insurance company totalled my S2000 out. Puts me in a tight financial position, but I might be able to get an 08 S2000 CR. I like almost everything about the car. At first I hated it, but it's grown on me considerably and I haven't even seen it in person. And we all know pictures don't do S2000's justice, especially Hardtop ones.

That said, if I can make this little dream happen I'm curious if there's an easy fix for the things I don't like. First and foremost, the uber functional wing kills it for me. I would have been a lot happier if they had used a Mugen/J's/Voltex wing, atleast I wish they had painted it black like the HT. That said, are there any wings that's mounting based would match the pre drilled holes of the CR wing. If not, do you think in our community there are owners out there with a stock OEM trunk that would want to swap? Or does everyone feel the same as me towards the wing and I'm stuck with it unless I buy a new trunk. Chances are even if I get a stock trunk I will add on a J's/Voltex wing. (I like the look of Evasives S2000s')

Second big issue, and I guess this is a ? that CR owners can answer. How are the new seats? Is the cloth crappy? tear or rip easily?

Last one, what's the Tonneau cover thing like. It looks kinda cheap to me. Almost like it sits on top the "once" softop well, instead of in it. Just curious if it's an eyesore topless and if it's easy to take out.

Thanks for your time guys!

Have you found any deals on a CR?

I feel the same about the wing, I am sure it's functional at extra legal speeds, but a waste for street use.

There's been a few but not enough to pull the trigger. Honda of Bowie has one instock right now.

If I find one for a good deal buy it, will you trade me the Vette straight up? Good Luck George!

I am actually considering pulling the trigger on a black CR, but doing my homework for the removal of the cover and installation of a rag-top.

With a functional top, it would be perfect, IMHO.

Just buy a S2000 and then a hardtop. It will cost a small fortune to add a softop.

FYI, Hagerstown Honda has a yellow one for like $34,000. You have to see a black one in person...that is what made me like the CR. Up until that point, I figured it was just an overpriced ricer. I agree with you about the wing though.

There has been a GPW CR on ebay for the past month, for 34k. It's located in Georgia though.

Do you think the suspension, steering ratios, seats, body moldings, shifter, wheels, lug nuts, shifter knob, and the fact they would have to be installed outside a Honda factory would somehow be a cheaper / better alternative than installing a rag-top?

It didn't seem like it to me, but who knows...

Why not just remove the wing and plug up the holes??? you can put the wing back on if you are doing a track day.
