I noticed this the other day:

When I put my top up and closed the latches, I saw metal shavings fall from them in the sunlight. Is everyone else experiencing this wear on the metal where the latches connect to the windsheild? Should I be doing something to prevent this?

And while I'm here, can someone post instructions for taking the center console apart to get the build date? Thank you

 

I'm experiencing the same problem with mine, I figured it was somewhat normal. Any ideas?

I don't think you have a choice.
That's the way it is.....bad design.

 

Try a little grease in there

 

It a standard problem that everyone has. I remember someone posting a solution to this a while back. Something like using that "heat-shrink" wire insulation. Put it on there and bake it with a hair dryer.

 

To remove the center console to get the build date......DON't!
1) Step one
Open drivers door
2) Step Two
Read build date in door jam.
