You can try the Dunplop SP9000s; a set of them were on my car when I bought it used.

They have a treadwear rating of 280, double the stock S-02 rating, so they SHOULD last longer in normal driving conditions.

Also, they are supposedly better in the rain....

However, I had noticed faster wear with the Dunlops on racetracks, and I did crash my car on the track with Dunlops in the rain.

Also, I really felt like the Dunlops had a much lower grip level than the S-02s. Once I replaced them with S-02s, the car felt infinitely better.

I just put set 0f 04 wheels on my 02. I went with the Kumho Ecsta MX in a 225/45 and a 255/40 17 setup. This was less than a week ago so too soon to tell you how the tires are, but so far they seem to have great grip in the dry and they still have not been really broken in! For the price I think they are great but then again as I said I have had them for a bout a week. Planning on doing some driving the next few days to wear off the release agents that make new tires slippery at first.

The Cumho Ecstasies are a great deal, great performance for the price!
