1. Did I ever call the car exotic? No.
2. I could care less about the value, I bought the car to keep no for resale.
3. I love getting together in groups with people who appreciate the car... I don't like the idea of seeing one every stop light.
4. Honda will stop building them when they think they should. I'm just stating my opinion on hoping they will stop.. just like 75% of the people I know on this board think, so we're all crying I guess.
5. So far you've bascially in more or less words, said I'm a focking retard, stupid and now a cry baby...... I think your the one who needs to grow up and find better ways to argue your points than name calling.

Your also assuming a lot of things and putting words in my mouth such as... "people like you are pissed......"

The only time I'm pissed is when people assume and put words in my mouth.

I understand why some people want the car to keep being produced, and they are entitled to their opinion. I'm entitled to mine, so if it makes you feel better by calling me names, go ahead and make yourself feel better by calling me or other owners names. We're all crybaby dumbfocks that are stupid... wanna add to that
First, please take a long look through this entire thread. You'll find I've called NO ONE anything such as focking retard or stupid. MAYBE you're confusing me with someone else.

However, I would also like to point out that this thread was started to talk about some information that someone found about potential changes for the 05 model, not to talk about people's opinions about whether the S2000 should continue to be produced or not.

I believe while YOU were the first person to throw into this thread YOUR opinion (which you are entitled to) about discontinuing production of the S2000. I simply replied with MY opinion for why I would like to see at least one more year. For that, I will agree that I have misused this thread as you have, and I apologize.

Second, there are A LOT of people on this board that would like to see discontinued production of the S2000. For that, I offered my opposed opinion. While I do not expect to change people's minds, I would like to think most people would see my point of view, as I see their's.

My main comment in my last post is that the volume of S2000s on the road will never catch up to that of the 350Z. In fact the rarity of the S2000 is one of the things I like most about the car (probably third to its handling and its appearance). So I completely get your point.

However, I also countered the two most common themes I've come across as reasons people would like to see the S2000 discontinued:
1) Resale value (Which lacks sense. If people like their car so much, why are they selling it?), and...
2) Rarity/exoticism.

Rarity is exactly why YOU would like to see the S2000 discontinued, as you have stated you would not like to see an S2000 on every street corner. As I have already mentioned, I agree. The S2000 is somewhat rare given it has only been produced for 5 years so far, and only about 10k on average have been imported to the States during those five year.

While you may not have described the car yourself as exotic, others from your camp have. In fact a big part of what makes something exotic is its rarity. And while I agree that the car does possess some qualities of an exotic car, many (including myself) would not classify the S2000 as an exotic. That does not change the fact that many people on this board drive this car (including myself when I get one) for its exotic qualities. So no, while I'm NOT putting words in your mouth, I AM quoting people from the camp that desires the S2000 to be discontinued. In fact this opinion has been expressed over and over again to the point of crying, whining, or whatever you'd like to call it, although I have yet to find an individual yet on this board someone I'd like to call a crybaby.

Please read my posts more carefully. I can understand why you do not like people calling you names and putting words in your mouth. But if you would read MY posts a bit more carefully, you would see that I have not called you OR anyone else names. And, I have not put words in your mouth as much as I've stated my opinion which contradicts the general opinions of the camp that wishes the S2000 discontinued.

all you people who keep saying that you wish honda would stop production of the S2000 (ie: i hope they don't make 05s!!) are f'ing retards. First off stop being greedy...what if someone who has never owned as S2000 wants to get a new one that some punk ass kid hasn't driven the sh!t out of? and what about yourself? say your S gets totaled or whatever and you want to replace it? now you have to buy a used one. stop being stupid. I want Honda to make the S2000 for a long long time so I can keep replacing mine after it gets too old and starts breaking.
110% but not with the insults....my reason that i hope they keep making the S2000 is that this is my dream car! I love the S and i hope they keep the body the SAME! when there was word about a new body for the MY04 i was like "ok crap"...But Honda was smart enough too keep the style of the body the same that being said i hope they don't do anything else to the body it is simply PERFECT now!

The only reason I want Honda to stop making S2000 is value. When it comes time for me to sale my S, if I ever do decide on that, I would like to get top dollar for it rather then 10 or 15K. I paid 38K for my S and the ideal of getting 20 to 23K for it these days is ridiculous. I bought my S on the factor that it was suppose to be limited production. Wanting to keep the value up is not retarded

WOW each of you has a good point. I only wish honda changed the name of the 2004 to S2200, it seems like common sense . Then maybe down the road we could buy a S3000 with a high V6

Oh I am dreaming again.

The car was originally suppose to be less of a production model than it has become. The only reason it was made was to commemorate Honda's Anniversary, not for a new model to add to the lineup. That's why sticker prices were so high above MSRP to begin with because nobody knew how long they were gonna make the car or how many.

speaking of the 2005 model....i expect interior and exterior color changes or options and maybe a couple of options that we all can retro to our cars, little things is what i expect in the area of change. Evolution rather than revolution.

It was over MSRP to begin with because the car was in high demand and there really wasn't any competition like there has been these past few years. Sure, some dealers tried to ratcheted up demand by saying they weren't sure how long the car was going to be made, but by and large it was purely supply and demand with zero price/performance competition to boot. It was also Honda dealers squeezing blood from the stone since they never had anything like this car and were taking this as a once in a life-time opportunity (which it probably was.)
