all you people who keep saying that you wish honda would stop production of the S2000 (ie: i hope they don't make 05s!!) are f'ing retards. First off stop being greedy...what if someone who has never owned as S2000 wants to get a new one that some punk ass kid hasn't driven the sh!t out of? and what about yourself? say your S gets totaled or whatever and you want to replace it? now you have to buy a used one. stop being stupid. I want Honda to make the S2000 for a long long time so I can keep replacing mine after it gets too old and starts breaking.
I'm a focking retard, I don't want S2000's all over the road like 350z's are already. It's nice to own something that is a part of Honda heritage and not some long term production car. The S originallly wasn't suppose to be made this long already. Just like its ancestors, the S600 S800 etc, this is a small run production car, not a civic.

I'm sure down the road there will be another S car, but for now this one needs to end its production. I'd rather have the car more rare than a common oddity. I'm never gonna stop being stupid.... so get over it. Just becaue the car isn't made doesn't mean parts won't be.

Anymore verbal attacks buddy?

S2000 production has not been anywhere NEAR the production of a 350Z. Honda didn't build this car to break sales records, and they still don't plan to. HOWEVER, Honda is a company that is in the business of making money. At some point they'll can the S2000 for some financial reason. That's how business works.

I'm sick of people complaining about how the 04 S2000 is watered down for the masses. That's BS. Fine, you prefer the pre04, and many agree. Others prefer the 04+. Everyone has a preference, but the S2000 is really no more appealling in the 04 version than it was before to the average Joe. Therefore, while one may have a preference, the new version is NOT watered down for the masses. It's time to realize this.

I'm also sick of people saying that the S2000 should be discontinued. It will be in due time. I'm betting after the 2005 production year myself. But the fact remains that it is still a relatively rare car, even compared to the 350Z which has only been in production for a little over a year and a half. And while we're comparing the S to the 350Z..... The local Nissan generally has about 10 Zs on the lot, half of them used. The Mazda dealer has about 20 RX-8s on the lot, they can't seem to give them away. At the most, I've seen 2 S2000s at the local Honda dealer, and one was presold. The the Z and the 8 were built to be popular. The S was NOT built to sell 50k/year.

The fact is people like you are just pissed that you had what you think is an exotic you can actually afford, only to find Honda producing it for 4... 5... 6... (+?) years. As fabulous a car as the S2000 is, it's not an exotic! So you better expect depreciation (although slower than average as it IS a Honda, and it IS a low production sports car). And, you should expect to see another one once in awhile.

I guess my point is, Honda ain't gonna stop buildin' S2000s because you think they should. So deal with it and stop crying.

I say keep it coming. It's not like there so many imported. About 4k-6k units a year? In my area I may see like 4 or 5 S2's a month. The car is not practical and on comes in manual. Those two factors equal minimal buyers. We should get worried when the S2's start coming out with an automatic transmission.

S2000spoon,

Good point auto the lack of a slush box. The various salesmen I talked with recently said they lose more sales due to the lack of an auto than anything else. Most people are ready to spend the $'s before they show, love the look, etc and walk when they see 6 speed only.

If Honda were "watering down" the car, they have plenty of auto's they could throw in there, but they don't.

yeah but in the nsx they made money
i don't know if they can make any money selling auto's that can handle 8k revs
would probably add 2500 to the price at least
and suck 20hp and 10lb/ft of torque away

1. Did I ever call the car exotic? No.
2. I could care less about the value, I bought the car to keep no for resale.
3. I love getting together in groups with people who appreciate the car... I don't like the idea of seeing one every stop light.
4. Honda will stop building them when they think they should. I'm just stating my opinion on hoping they will stop.. just like 75% of the people I know on this board think, so we're all crying I guess.
5. So far you've bascially in more or less words, said I'm a focking retard, stupid and now a cry baby...... I think your the one who needs to grow up and find better ways to argue your points than name calling.

Your also assuming a lot of things and putting words in my mouth such as... "people like you are pissed......"

The only time I'm pissed is when people assume and put words in my mouth.

I understand why some people want the car to keep being produced, and they are entitled to their opinion. I'm entitled to mine, so if it makes you feel better by calling me names, go ahead and make yourself feel better by calling me or other owners names. We're all crybaby dumbfocks that are stupid... wanna add to that

some people in this thread need to chill out, and real quick. Otherwise this thread is gonna get locked, and that would be a shame because other than a couple of people it's been a good thread.

i agree,

but i don't think the S2000 will ever as the 350Z or even close. Nissan has already produced more in 1 1/2 years than Honda has produced in 5 years. I think if they keep it a fairly limited production car, probably 4-5K a year, it'll still be pretty rare.
