i think it has a lot to do with the ECU. I tuned my VAFC and went from 203 to 211whp on a dynojet. Car was running really rich.. I can just imagine what timing would add to the numbers

you wish.

there equal out about the same. the AP2 takes three shifts to get to 60 whereas the AP1 on take one, and the 90-100lbs wieght increase between the two cancells it out.

AP2 are more likely to pull a hair from a roll, if they even do at all. alot of it usually comes down to the driver, as always.
The weight difference is about 25 to 30 pounds. Its all due to the bigger wheels and tires on the ap2. Thats it. Equals out to be about 4 gallons of gas.

not quite, having bigger wheels is more of a con in towards spinning the wheel rather the weight different. I doubt it would make a difference if there were to be a 50 lb bag in the trunk but if the wheels were heavier, thats a different story

Yea, I would agree with that. It does take more energy to spin a heavier wheel. The real point of the post is the fact that the weight difference between ap1 and 2 is only about 25 to 30 lbs. Not 90 to 100lbs.

The last time I went to the track with the mods I have now and with a half tank of gas and me sitting in the car (175 lbs at the time)... My car weighed in at 2846 lbs.

my 05 ap2 dynojet at 204rwhp. these 06 #'s are amazing 0__0

So the question is, why didn't Honda up their HP #? Even a slight bump of 5-10hp at the crank would look good on paper and for the marketing department (news flash: s2000 gets a slight bump of power to 250hp!....etc)

And I kind of like it that way cause you don't see them too often. Not like 350z's where you see them a dime a dozen. Them not being known is the reason we can have that one thread of "Funny things people said about your S2000".
