It's not a scam. I worked for a dealership before, and Honda Care works for others. Why would you say it's a scam?

As for trading the warranty in.. you don't trade it in along with the car. You can call Honda Care and sell it back to them. They'll at least give you a small portion back.
It's a scam to me. I bought it brand new for my Prelude back in 2001 and also had it on my s2k. EVERY time there was a problem, not onyl did I have to pay them $89 (or something) for them to check it but no doubt, everytime nothing is wrong. I had the clutch buzz as well and Honda told me that "they couldn't hear it" I will NEVER buy Honda care warranty again

I had a whole motor get rebuilt by Honda because I overreved it on my Prelude.

If they pull that on you, then you should talk to the manager. I've never had a problem with Honda Care.

Sorry to hear about your misfortunes. Btw, for the TSB.. did you print it out and give it to them? That's what I did to avoid the diagnostic charge.

TSBs are supposed to cost money IF you're out of warranty, but the dealership can still talk to the district service manager about it, and if the district guy OKs it, the dealership still gets paid to do it.

Usually dealerships LOVE to do warranty work because they can charge Honda a lot more than they charge regular customers.

the buzz almost sounds like a bad exhaust rattle or something.....2 thousand miles on the new clutch and no buzz........keeoing my fingers crossed!

sfkn1- in my case- the dealership def did not want to do the warranty work bc it was a "inhouse" warranty. i bought the car used from a toyota dealership-so they were the ones paying for the work to be done. if the warranty is thru honda from a honda sealership then maybe a different story.
