The S needs better gearing, go that route. The blower does give the car much need power but in reality its not that fast and forget reliablity.
incorrect.

If I remember correctly, if you want the AP2 to accelerate like an AP1 with 4.57(6)'s, you should get 4.44's......I think. I think the difference is in the gearing in the transmission.

Check into it. PM WisconsinS2k, as he is kind of the resident Guru on gears.

If money is not the issue, then a supercharger would seem obvious to me. Your AP2 already has adequate gearing unlike the AP1 cars. Its true that you won't feel the power of the S/C until higher rpms, but that is where you are at 90% of any race anyway. 4.44 gears in an ap2 will act more like 4.77s in an ap1. Top speed will drop to 135 vs 152 stock. It will feel like about 16% more power in the lower gears or around 35 hp (feeling) Supercharger will add up to 100 at some points.

Don't just look at 1/4 mile and 0-60. The huge difference will be from a roll or passing on highway. Article in Sport Compact addressed this. 15-100 acceleration dropped 3.6 seconds from 15.4 to 11.8. This is a huge difference. You won't be close to that improvement with the gears. People have said about a 5 car advantage over stock geared s's w/gearing. That's about 1/2 second or little more improvement up to 100. Think about 3.6 seconds from rolling in 1st up through 4th gear.

I've got 4.44 in my ap1 and they are nice and all, but if I had $4k-5k burning a hole in my pocket and would only do one mod, the supercharger would win hands down, especially if I had an ap2 w/already improved gearing.
