Need help on selling my S2k

From what I've been seeing around where I live, I could get around 15k. When you say you put money into your car, I'm guessing performance wise which would not raise the value of the car. I would rather have a car never touched and do it myself. I don't know if the person installed the parts right. I don't know if the car has been beat to death. Etc...That's just me though.
Sports cars are judged a little different from everyday cars. Over 50,000 miles is considered excessive on a sports car and since this car is basically 7 years old, I don't see you getting more than $12,000 as a private seller.
Which is not bad if you ask me. The car only cost $33,000 new back in 2001. That's about 1/3 of the cost over the span of seven years.
But like I said, I would just refinance and keep it.
I'm not expecting my value to be massively different due to the fact that I've sunk money into the vehicle, actually the mileage was more the point I was making. Though, not only have I put in performance $$, there is a HT, 2 sets of wheels (one with very nice racing tires), a lightweight, but very good performing (and quite expensive) stereo, etc.
Also, there is pretty much not a scratch on my car. It was recently fade painted from the bumper back in order to eliminate the tiny rock chips.

You'd be lucky to get $12k. Nobody wants the S2000 with the plastic top AND 75,000 miles.
Just keep the car.
Refinace if you want to save some money. Your payments would be in the two hunderd range. That's basically painless.

Rather than speculating, why don't you post it for sale and see what the market brings you.
The plastic top is an issue for some (but a top can be replaced). If the rest of the car is clean with not damage, properly maintained, etc.. you may be able to get close to what you are asking for.
Location, time of year, demand, timing, etc... all factor in....
Good luck with your family
