I might be signing papers today to trade in my 2000 Silver S2K and ordering a 2001 Yellow S2K. Here's the deal:

2001 Yellow: $36,000 all options (forced) -the CD changer

Trade in: $29,000 18K miles, new front&rear bumper covers, fixed rear quarter panel, 2 bald rear tires.

I think the trade in is fair, plus with the trade in the tax savings is about $1700.

I cannot find a South Florida dealer selling for MSRP. I don't want all the options, but atleast I'm getting something for my $$ instead of just having a $3000 dealer mark up.

I know this isn't a great deal, but is it a decent deal?

I would say that it's a great deal, especially considering the mileage on your current car. $29k sounds pretty damn good.

Sounds like a decent deal to me, considering the mileage and condition of your car. Go for it!

Yes good deal. You are getting a great trade price! Of course I'd probably spend the $7K + tax on something else but that's just me.

I would do it quick because I am kind of surprised that the car only depreciated @3.5K from MSRP with 18K miles on it. The sales guy is probably doing fuzzy math.

Do it. Sales guys don't make the deals or do the math, sales managers do. Go for it.
