Go drive the NSX. The 97+ doesn't make significantly more power, but it has much better gearing than the older cars; so you may want to try a 96 and 97. The depreciation cycles are better for the 97+ as well because of this. However, the 3.0ltr block is actually superior if you want to bore it out for some serious [350-400hp] n/a horsepower down the road.
In reality, the similarities between the NSX and s2k are limited, one is a roadster midclass FR 4 cyl sports car, one is an all aluminum v6 MR exotic. The gradual alignment of NSX and s2k prices make them seem more similar than they really are.

S2K's are cool but comparing them to a NSX is comparing apples to oranges. MR VS FR first off and second the body design is that of a supercar. WAAAYYYY ahead of its time to say the least. I have seen a few 96 NSX-T going for 30-35k which is the s2k's range.
My opinion = NSX

I still think the NSX is overpriced and underperforming. The car is a letdown, in my opinion. A chassis that gumby would be envious of, a mediocre engine, supercar looks without the performance to back it up...
There are much better options out there for the money.

wow. i wouldnt be so fast as to hate on the nsx. it's chasis is very stiff. more still than italian exotics. i also would disagree that the S and the NSX are very different. they are really like big and little brother, imo. driving both, i'd think u'd see what i mean. bottomline, the car is awesome, despite how old it is. but the S is also amazing. the way i see it, if you're into a smooth, more mature ride and care about status and dont mind paying quite a bit for it, the NSX. if you want to feel the road, have ultra quick response and love to bathe in the sun and save a bunch of money, the S.
