Brian,
The tape is black and on the A pillars and windshield header on all colors except black. IMHO the lines or much better without with top down.

If you check out the Boxster, M Roadster, TT, MR2 and SLK, you'll see that they all show body color around the windshield, the way it should be. It kind of looks lumpy with the black tape and the black weatherstripping. But then again, the Z8 has black around its windshield.

I feel so stupid now. Thanks for the info. I'm going home now to take mine off.

Brian,

Before you take the tape off, search for the threads that had the instructions on how to do it. I think it's easier if you use a heat gun.

Also, be aware that some people have taken their tape off to find some very bad scratches underneath it.

Just some things to consider before doing it.

Brian,

I used a hair dryer to heat the tape up. Cleaned up with vodka and isopropyl alcohol. Only use one on the car, not sure which one I drank but it worked out great. Good luck.

I had scratches, but any good body shop can fix that. I think the car looks much better without it, because the tape looks cheap, IMO.

So has anyone asked Honda about this tape? it is just something they put on for shipping? I checked out the tape and it seems like it went on before the windshield... wondering if they put it there on purpose.

It is there on purpose. I believe the tape is there because Honda thinks most Americans will drive with the top up (it matches the black softop). What counts to me is how the S2000 looks the way it is designed to be TOP DOWN. The car is framed and looks sportier with out the tape. Up close it looks like someone put electrical tape on the car. Cheap and flat looking with top down. Loose the tape Honda.
