Does it bother anyone else that Comptech is charging $350 for their new CAI and it doesn't work on a MY2002? Talk about doing design in a vacuum. Throw in the still unresolved stress corrosion cracking of the SC brackets and I'm really starting to wonder about their Engineering capabilities.

It makes me wonder if Honda put the horn there on purpose to discourage people from installing a supercharger.

WE GOT OUR CAR!!!!! MY2002 Blue/Blue!!
We installed our intake tonight and BTW we custom fit it into the car! It sounds mint!!! If you have a MY2002 the intake will fit!! You have to remove the extra horn and cut a notch into the side of the air box for the horn bracket. Or dremel it off.

I'll post pics tommorrow.

Yippppeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I believe Comptech is modifying their CAI to fit MY02 but... I'm kinda worried that they give up on us MY02 owners. Or it would take them like 6 months to design a new one!

RSXTypeR and others...

If you want a Comptech CAI, you can buy one through me (MG Racing/site sponsor) - there's a big shipment of the CAI's coming in next week, so if you want one, send me a PM/email for payment information. I'm offering them for $349 shipped to your door (within the 48 states, slightly more elsewhere).

I am considering installing a CAI (possibly Comptech's) but am worried about warrantee issues. I realize that any mod, even something as simple as an aftermarket stereo, could technically be used as an excuse for Honda to deny paying for problems that occur during warrantee. However, how likely are they to get upset about a CAI? I mean, is it really doing anything other than improving the stock airbox? Am I negating my warrantee or only if it appears that the CAI caused a problem that I am trying to get fixed under warrantee?

You are in no way going to void the warranty, unless the dealership can prove that the aftermarket part was the direct cause of any breakage. If the dealership tries to reject service find another dealership.

On another note, any data on the CT CAI gains? Dyno sheets? Is the MY02 version ready?

Randy, I'm waiting on Dark's install pics so I can see what exactly has to be done for the MY02 vehicles for proper install. I'm just a bit apprehensive until I see what needs to be done to make it fit. Hopefully, we'll have something shortly. Thanks in advance Dark!
