I installed mine this week and the issue I have is with the carbon fiber top. There is a notch cut out towards the front which the hood support rod should fit in. I had to enlarge the notch just a little with a Dremel tool. So now the support rod will snap into place and could then be removed without bending the top. I don't know for sure, but this might be the "FITMENT" problem ! It was easilly resolved.

I am not anywhere close to a Dyno, so I had to use my "Butt-O-Meter"! Sorry The engine does feel a little stronger throughout the complete RPM range. VTECs' kick is also a little stonger! With a speed shift from 2nd to 3rd, I got some rubber and the car pulled to the side. That has never happened before!

My car has about 7,500 miles on it now and I've felt the engine was getting stonger over the last 1,500 miles or so. I have noticed that engine performance is stronger in cool weather when compared to a 95 degree summer day. So the temperture today for my first drive with the CT CAI was 49 degrees. And at this tempature with the stock air box, I could only get rubber from 1st to 2nd and not 2nd to 3rd. So I am impressed. How it will preform this summer will be the real test.

I have never heard anything other than the stock air box on the S2000. With the CT CAI you really don't hear it under normal driving conditions, it just sounds the same. Put your foot into it and you hear a Whaaaaaa sound. Once you hit VTEC, it is louder than the stock box, there is no way you could miss it. The sound still resembles the stock air box, just louder. You really get the feeling the CAI is moving more air.
There is no way this combination sounds like a Harley !

For those of you who live in a city where exhaust testing is a way of life, Comptech's CAI is CARB legal.

Hope this helps. I'm happy with my first CAI. I have also ordered Coastal Metals "Air Flow System" this should allow more cool air to enter the wheel well area from the front bumper.

I almost forgot to mention my exhaust is also stock and there are no other mods to the engine.

Since the Comptech pulls *some* air from the opening of the fender well, I would think cutting out the fake vents (or getting the Coastal Metals one) should be a requirement for this CAI to get as much cool air into the fender area. Am I wrong?

Update....
I talked with the guys from Comptech today via the comptech web forums. I'll have the dyno results next monday. He's going to fax it to me. I'll take a digi-pic of it and post it monday night.

Just thought you'd like to know

Are you serious! The Comptech CAI doesn't fit the MY2002??? I hope not because I've been wanting this for a while now. I might get the AEM now...save myself $100.

Well I went to the dealer today to check out the MY2001 they had and took some pics of the engine bay were the CT airbox sits. It should be no problem to fit the CT CAI they have in stock into a MY2002 with a slight mod. to the horn.
The only difference is a small "L" bracket that holds the horn in place. The horn can very easily be moved and a very small slit put in the CT airbox and slid right over the bracket. It won't surprise me if thats all CT does to the new model; gives you some directions on were and how to move the horn and just adds a small hole to the box.<---(Just my own thoughts not that of Comptech USA's.) But If you were to buy the one they have in stock you can make it work very easily.

This is the MY2001

This is the MY2002

Well you guys tell me what ya think. I think this is an easy fix. Move the horn make a small slit and do the install same as always.

Ps: I would like to thank HondaS2K8888 for the MY2002 pics.
