New Hard-top dented!
So I finally get my hardtop installed today that I have been waiting 3 months for and they call me to let me know it is ready for pickup. The guy says there was an "incident" during install and explains that they dented the top and they had their dent doctor repair it and you can't even tell it happened. So when I get there, it is already dark out, the car is wet from the rain, so of course I don't see it and go on my merry way.
As soon as I get home my wife says, "Aw hell no!! You did not pay $4000 for some dented roof." And sure enough, in my garage, you can see exactly where they dented it, as there is a little ripple. Needless to say I immediately called and left a message for the service manager and explained it all. So tomorrow morning we will see what comes of it. I completely expect nothing less than them ordering a new one. I guess I will have to wait another 3 months or more for the next one too.
So that's it. Just had to vent.

I'm surprised that you would take it at all. I'd reject it if it were under Hollywood lights and I couldn't see the dent at all, or at least get them to drop the price like crazy.

I imagine that a dent in aluminum will not pop out like a dent in a traditional steel panel.
Most likely will need more traditional body work, bondo and a respray, to make it smooth enough. Or a new top.
Good luck.
