FWIW,
Coming from Nissan background, the SR20DE/DET is different in FWD/AWD configuration vs RWD. The block is different so that the axle can pass near it...
dunno if that applies to the RSX, but food for thought...

Well, about how the engine is spinning, the RSX engine will not be turning the same way the Integra engine is, so yes, it'll probably be the same way the S2000 engine is spinning.
However, the RSX is going to have i-VTEC instead of plain vanilla VTEC. I imagine that that would affect at least the ECU and probably other stuff too. I'm not sure if a simple swap is possible.
Also, I'm not even sure if the RSX is even equivalent to an Integra in Japan. People in Japan have said that they've seen spy shots of the new Integra, and they've seen RSX pictures and that the two aren't alike. I think the RSX is more like a glorified Civic.

No worries people.
The RSX uses an engine called the K20. The base RSX will probably get a K20A while the Type-S will get a K20C. The k-series is a clockwise rotating engine, but is very different in configuration from the F20C.
The K20C uses a variable configuration intake manifold, i-VTEC and a very compact E-type exhaust manifold. Given the tight underhood area of the new Civic platform (which the RSX is directly based on) it would be problematic to make the F20C fit, not to mention the issues with engine control and mating it to a FWD tranny.
Moreover, I wouldn't want to bother. The standard K20C will make at least 200 hp and 145 lbs-ft of torque. Peak power will occur somewhere between 7000-8000 rpm and I'm betting it will be on the lower end of that range. If my dyno sheets are accurate, the F20C only produces about 210 hp at 7000 rpm, so the RSX should perform quite nicely. Furthermore, thanks to the intake manifold, i-VTEC and state of tune, I'm betting that the K20 will produce peak torque closer to 4k-5k rpm and wil have a better slug of low end torque compared ot the F20C. A few mods (or a factory Type-R version) should be able to easily hit 220 hp.

On a more upbeat note, is it just me or does anyone else prefer the new hatchback Civic Type-R to the Acura RSX? It appears they both have the same drivetrain/engine setup, but to me the Civic is more practical, lighter, more raw and has one of the coolest shifters I have ever seen.
Which would you guys buy?
