The new MP3 in-dash king on the block?
The JVC KD-SH99 looks like a winner, and early reviews reflect this suspicion.
It has 4volt preout - F/R and sub
MP3 playback with lots of cool features and good reliability - less quirky than the others.
And, for you silver S2K owners the face is aluminum!
Check it out at a site for in dash mp3 players:

I am not affiliated with them btw..

Yepser, this is a great head unit... still not enough power for my taste, so I would recommend an amp. But everything else is awsome.

I have the new Kenwood, about $350. It skips less than the stock and the play back is very intuitive. Scrolls the artist/song name and is all I need. Very nice install in the stook. Absolutely love it!
I've had the Kenwood z919 for about 9 months and have been quite happy with it.

Of course, a little amplification never hurts

And a little thump in the trunk too

I never had a custom box created. I know the prefab unit doesn't look too hot, but I can remove it when I need the trunk for storage or the spare. Sounds great, IMO
