Congrats on the car... I'm especially glad you feel that you got a good deal in the end.

When I bought mine, I pissed the finance guy off (it was obvious in his expression), by 1) saying no to everything, and 2) breaking out a calculator to check every line before signing (this one really got him).

I'm sure some would consider my actions rude, but I consider their tactics unprofessional and underhanded. I wouldn't have felt the need if they hadn't tried three times to get me to pay the sales tax rate for their state instead of mine as I was buying out of state (a difference of over $1k). In the end I was just making sure that I only signed the deal I had previously agreed to.

I will not let my emotions make me a sucker.

To the OP:
Research, then buy.
And when buying, be sure you double-check everything before signing on the dotted line.
Verify that the VIN is correct, verify that all of the accessories are correct (and priced correctly), and verify that the total sales price is correct.
Also verify that everything is correct with your financing, if applicable.

I don't see how your actions could be considered rude. If anything, the salesperson was rude for showing any sort of impatience or disrespect to you. It's your money, and you have the right to only purchase the items you want and the responsibility to make sure that they are not overcharging you.

The extended coverage is next to worthless. I have it and have tried to have the axle nut tsb, a bad caliper, bad clutch, and a faulty coil pack replaced under it and all were denied.

As for blue tooth adapter in a convertible...... What are you thinking?
That would be the most useless thing you could buy for the car. You can barely use the phone with the top down as it is!

Those are my thoughts exactly. However, the finance guy was obviously pissed, and the last time I told the story on here I got a pile of crap from a few people that it was wrong of me to bring a calculator.

Well, that explains why I've gotten about fifteen "this is your last chance" messages from Honda to purchase my extended warranty at the "discounted rate" (as I just rolled up on the two-year mark several weeks ago). I bet I get another message today, and this message will ALSO be my last chance.

An extended warranty on a brand new car is completely throwing away $1500. I think you have 30 days to get out of that. A friend that used to work at a dealer said the finance guy pockets 30 % of that and the dealer kept the rest because it only cost them 400 bucks.

I slipped when I bought my S as well. I was going back and forth with the sales Dude regarding the the Monthly payment (Which I learned you NEVER do). He finally agreed to what I wanted but little did I know that he jumped me from a 60 month lease to 72 . What a snake but it's my bad for not paying attention. It's all good because I'm paying it off early anyways. A hard lesson learned. Don't trust what these Sales people tell you and read the darn contract! They love to keep you there until it gets late and your so exhausted you just sign what ever is in front of you. This is how I looked when buying the S They knew they had me at hello! Ha ha.

You know how my ex-boss taught me to deal with car salespeople and finance people ?

Simple, he told me they have no soul and since they have no soul you can't hurt their feelings because they don't have feelings.

That made buying the last 2 cars much easier, for some reason in the past I tried to be as nice to the salesguy as he/she was to me and that always cost me. Now I am a A** and I don't care and I get what I want.
