I'll do a comparison if you want. Next Tuesday I'm having an install done of a JL 500/5 amp (250 watts to the sub) and a JL Audio Stealthbox (10").

Try a set of MB Quart Q's rolled in at 40 Hz. After I did that I got rid of my subwoofer.

Thanks Tif - I wouldn't say it is out of bounds. Perhaps a single enclosure with a DVC sub - just to keep shipping cost down. How do you beat the customs issue though. Is it possible in the UK to purchase something (like an 8" DVC sub) test it out and take it back? This would keep the ship weight down to less than 5 lbs. Lets see what develops - Cheers

I don't know, when I saw the first part I was thinking '$250 for a pair of speaker mounts, expensive but they look nice.' Then I saw that it was $500 for the pair. Sorry, but last time I checked S2000 owners were trying to set themselves apart from the Boxter owners. $500 is outrageously high for something that you could make with a quick trip to Home Depot and the fabric shop. I Know... "but these are high quality materials specially designed to give the best audio output, blah,blah,blah..." Come on, do you really think that the low frequency sound going through the trunk/folded top is really going to sound that much better than making the thing out of a couple pieces of wood?

Before you go off with the flames, let me just say that I'm sure they are nice products and the people who want them will buy them regardless. I just don't think that those prices are realistic for that product and I would hate to see manufacturers start skyrocketing prices on other accessories because people will spend any amount of money for their S. Personally I rather put the $500 towards an x-brace, at least that does something noticeable to the car

A little too pricey for me, I can do the same with a 10' Eclipse...

that's a really clean unobtrusive setup. i've seen some people's boxes take up the entire tool kit well, and they didn't even fit right. i didn't spend over $30K on a car to get cheap about the stuff i buy for it.

oh, and paying a GOOD installer to build a custom box for a 12" sub would cost about the same.
