It's all dependent on who you know in the stereo business I guess. I could get a custom job with 10w3's that is very similar for the same price, but I've been doing stereos for years.....

Probably more like double that....in that sense these things are a steal and as soon as I get the money together I will be throwing a set in the back of my S2k.
Well said that man! These are a tried and tested plug and play solution, no waiting for the stereo shop to mould the wheel well to make the box or delays as they lay fibreglass, no mess just a quick, easy install ready trimmed and easily removable should the trunk space be required. Not forgetting that you retain the use of the wheel well in case of a puncture or for additional space

If they could fit 10-inch subs, I'd buy 'em right now. Two 8-inch subs won't be as bassirific as my one 10-inch RF HX2. Sorry, no sell here. Great idea, but needs bigger sub.

The price is outrageous, I thought they included the subs.
Which they don't. An enclosure doesn't cost this much, and if
they can't produce it for much less, than they shouldn't do it at
all. My couple cents.

Just so you guys know, I ordered a set from William a couple weeks ago and received them promptly. Keep in mind I have nothing to gain from this, but I wanted to give William props where justified. I read a few of the posts in this thread talking about how expensive they are, and if the price was justified or not. I was in the car audio business a while back, and we used to design and build custom boxes all the time. The craftmanship of these boxes are outstanding... and they are very light as well. Like someone else said, for the time and work involved in building these enclosures, you are much better off going the route of buying these outright. So for those of you that think a trip to Home Depot and couple hours in your garage is for you, try it... and you'll probably realize that the money would have been better off spent on these enclosures.

I have an Infinity basslink self powered sub in my trunk with remote to control the sound for different types of music and it has been more than enough bass for this car. retails for 500. but you can pick one up for 250. on Ebay...can't be beat at that price.

I have 2 8" solobaricks sub woofers in my trunk where the tools to change a tire were. Then I have a volume knob inside the cup holder for the bass. I then replaced all of the speakers inside the car with MB Quartz. I think my system sounds pretty good. The 8's hit hard enough for all types of music.

Please note - I have been able to negotiate a lower build price with my fiberglass contractor which resulted in a drop in the sell price. The pricing has been revised in the S2KI store as follows:

Single enclosure (no sub): went from $220 down to $175
Pair of enclosures (no sub): went from $400 down to $330

For all those that have already ordered - your orders have already shipped and your price was adjusted accordingly to reflect the above changes.

In addition I have tested a single enclosure with a Rockford HE2 Dual Voice Coil 8" - and it sounded spectacular. Not quite as good as a pair of enclosures with HE's - but pretty close or even equal to a pair with the Punch-Z subs.

CTHREE will be updating the order page to offer the HE2 as an option shortly.

If you would like more information on the Punch-Z, HE and HE2 subwoofers - you can review the specifications and sownload users manuals by selecting the following links:

Rockford Fosgate HE2 DualVoiceCoil - 250Wrms/500Wpeak

Rockford Fosgate HE SingleVoiceCoil - 200Wrms/400Wpeak

Rockford Fosgate Punch-Z Sub 150Wrms/400Wpeak

My current inventory:

Passenger side (right) enclosures - 1
Drivers side (left) enclosures - 3

I have more passenger side enclosures in process and should have them finished and on the shelf as early as July 19th.
