The 3rd gear thing? I don't know anything about that, mine's fine. Usually when someone has a problem getting into a gear in any stick-shift car, it's either 1st gear, 5th/6th gear, or reverse. It's a first to hear about a 3rd gear problem even after being on this board for 2 years. Maybe get it checked out by your dealer?
The following are some of the reported problems and solutions as reported by Honda and by owners:
1 SHIFTING
A large number of owners have reported either a notchy feeling or actual grinding when shifting in the lower gears since the car was introduced. Others report it is the smoothest shifter ever.
Soon after it

.Haha I noticed that little kick in first gear as well. I thought I was imagining it! Never had a car do that to me when engaging 1st...
You haven't owned enough Hondas.
They make the best trannies but they aren't perfect.
Every one i've owned (except the S2000) would, on occasion, need a little throttle and release of the clutch to get it into reverse (and rarely first). Very bizarre but no other problem with the trannie with multiple 5-speeds since 1986

Another 1st gear thumper here too.
The GM fluid worked nice in my car BTW. But with any fluid the notchiness will come back after a few thousand miles. I've noticed the higher the engine revs are, the smoother the shift. I usually try to shift at 4,000 rpms or higher.
