At last a fix

I took it into my local dealer, who had it for 10 days (ordered the part last tuesday, arrived the day after, didn't bother fitting until Staurday, but the manager forgot to bring his/her keys to work, so no fix for Jimbo's car )

Turns out the immobiliser connectors had shorted, one pin of the plastic connectors into the brain had burnt out.

they fitted a new immobiliser and wiring loom for it, seems to work fine (just hope it stays that way, off to France with it very soon )

Glad to hear that your problem was found and fixed. As you said, hope it stays fixed. I had no idea the immobiliser connectors can be shorted. Good to know if it ever happens to another car.
