well there is a TSB for this very issue. Type "clutch buzz" or "clutch rattle" into the search and you should end up with some info.

Its gear backlash at 3-4,000 rpm in 2nd and 3rd gears. Warranty will replace the friction plate with an improved version. Had it done on my S when I bought it used right at 36K. The TSB reference # is 00-054.

I just want to point out that any TSB starting with "00-" applies to the MY2000 cars only. Since we don't know what MY car whitelude has, we can only say that the MY2000 cars have this problem. Since I have s MY2000 car, I am not up on whether there is an equivalent TSB for the MY2001 to MY2003 cars. It is best to check with your local Honda service manager.

Your correct that we don't know what MY he has, but I'm looking at the TSB and it says it's for a MY00 and 01. Also says it supersedes a TSB with the same number??? Anyhow it worked for me.
