Lol thx, really intrested in an s2k, parents want me to get a safe car and this is the best car I could find that has a 4 star+ crash test rating and looked really exciting, I want a rare car not to show off, just cause I want something not every single other high schooler has like a ford mustang known as like a "Girl Magnet" at high schools.

Found out about the s2000 when asking on a corvette forum when a guy said he got into a wreck in it and basically walked away and went to work that day. Kinda with it being a 2-seater I can borrow my mom's Rav 4 (They bought one and leased one for me lulz lulz lulz) for those rare occasions where you and a few friends go on road trips and such together in high school and need a bigger car
The s2000 is really one of the few safe cars that really interests me cause 90s cars are "death traps". Which my parents are paying for some of my car and the insurance so they want a safe car which since I found out about the s2000 is fine with me. Kinda why I am trying to learn all about it now to see what I need to be thinking about like trunk space and all. Though going to spend a few days browsing the FAQ in my free time (lulz just found it). Also intrests me because it seems like a car that will have a lot of fun projects modding it over the years as I get the money for it.

s2kca sucks. i've been there and i really didnt enjoy the forums.

anyway, whoever said you have to start somewhere was right. reddawnfx taking the first steps looking into s2000's. he's asking questions and learning about the car, so please dont flame him. we were all noobs once and i'm sure we all had questions about the car ourselves.

 

Also, would you guys recommend buying an s2k used from a person or a dealership? I know I read a thread a while back and saw that there were very few problems the s2k would have really if you bought it from a person, and you can ask the person to let you go with him to a mechanic of your choice or something and have them inspect it.

So thinking that buying an s2k with mods from a person would be a better choice if you take all the steps you need to prevent getting screwed over?

 

You can do a recall/TSB completion check but I'd take it to your own mechanic to have it checked out prior to purchase.
