Speaking of owning both, why stop there? If you want a harsher car, get a real race car or a kit car in addition to the S2000. If you want more torque and refinement and all that good stuff, then add a Jag or a Benz to your stable. I have an AP1 because it's at the far end of the spectrum, and a Benz because the AP2 is too close to my AP1 to make a meaningful difference, while the Benz isn't. Having vastly different cars makes them all more enjoyable.

As far as handling goes, there is a road near here where the handling of our RX-300 is so superior to the S2000 that I'll race any S2000, over a two mile stretch, for pinks, anytime anybody cares to give it a shot. You'll do fine until you get to the creek and the quicksand.
Point being, good handling is as much a function of what you're doing as it is what you're doing it in.

Get more than one nice car.
Variety is the spice of life.

As time goes by the S has become more forgiven on the street road. SO DEAL WITH IT and LOVE IT!!! hahahahha
As long as you won't be upset with me for liking my older car more than the newer cars, I won't be upset with you for loving that nice new MY07.

Nice ride. I hope your's is as nice when it's 7 years old as mine is at that age, and I hope you're just like me, and love everything about it just as much then as you did the day you bought the car.

Wait until somebody gets a CR and argues that it is the best S2000 ever. LOL, the top doesn't even go down, so nanner nanner nanner.

You do don't you, Mocky? Both Berlinas? Do you have a preference?
Yup...

Started with an '01 NFR that was gone in '04
Picked up '05 Berlina in April of '05.
Wife has an '00 Berlina.

Which do I prefer? Well, put it this way.....when we get our next car, we will sell one of the cars and be down to 1 Berlina.... and it will be the Ap2.

It comes down to personal preference.

AP1 for me, I have an S because it is a raw experience. For it to be more refined would be for it be less of an S and more like any other car.

I do like the AP2's looks and torque, but not enough to give up the feel in the steering, shifter, clutch, turn-in, etc. I can always add an ASM bumper and gears.

At the end of the day, they are all S's, and there are no bad ones.

Or you could just spend a couple grand on a Supercharger, exhaust, ECU, and Header and throw down some nice HP and TQ and not have to worry about the maintenance you do with a turbo. And a 50 Shot of NOS cant hurt!!
