#1, if you got the money spring for the hardtop you will NOT be disappointed and the car looks unfreaking believeable with it's top on.

#2, Where I live we got 100" of snow last winter (3 major storms so far this winter though no snow on the ground right now) and the car is a blast in the snow as long as you have the right shoes.

I have the LM22s and they car handles great with a little weight in the trunk. But remember it IS rear wheel drive and you cannot drive it like a front wheel drive car. If you try you will crack it up. That means no accelerating around corners, no trying to pass people with snow on the roard, etc.

On the plus side it has awesome brakes. I did a little test when an inch or so of snow on the road got upto about 35 mph and slammed on the brakes. ABS kicked on and I came to a quick STRAIGHT stop.

#3, Man does this car get dirty! The rear bumper gets absolutely caked with road grime so be prepared to wash it fairly regularly.

...Maybe this is all the vtecing in parking lots... Hmmm...

#4 consider putting the snows on earlier than when it snows. You may have read the S02s do not like cold (or wet) all that much and when October hit and I started slipping I put the snows on early and have not regretted it. They may not last as long but it was worth it.

Good car hunting!

I really appreciate your help guys and gals, I have always believed that I could drive the car in bad weather as long as I am not an idiot and I plan on being around for the next 50 years or so. I am still in the process of deciding if it is the right move to get this car but my inspiration lays in the fact that my bro in law got the 350Z and I would like to take him off his high horse. I wish I could afford the hard top but I think that will take a year or two of saving before I can spring for that. I have only seen it once on the road but had to pull over because of orgasmic twiches as it blew by me. Right now I say S2K and blizzzaks sound great.

All the best. I think all you need is dedicated snow tires on your S!

Good luck!
