Same thing happened to me on the Insight. Paint code matches, but the color sure doesn't.

same thing here, I touched up my silverstone with OEM touch up paint, even though I was very careful by applying very thin layers, but still turned out disappointing.

Try taking a portion of your OEM paint and add a drop of sebring silver and you will get the correct tint..

Mine looked real dark too. I shaked it for a good 5 minutes, swirled the brush inside to make sure it was completely mixed well, and applied a tad to my hood. It was perfect.

I found that apply it in direct sunlight turns out better than do it in the shade, I shake it more than 10 min., though.

Good advice on here so far.
Even if you were spraying the exact color out of a spray gun you could adjust the color by adjusting the air pressure!
A more wet spray will bury the metallic and a dry spray will make metallic lighter. This metallic distribution applies to brushing also.
Mixing it thouroughly is very important. Following that if it is mixed thouroughly then you may need to apply enough coats if it is not dark enough or is to light. If the primer or steel is showing thorugh and is darker/lighter more/less coats may be needed.
