OEM stereo question
The stock speakers in the MY03 s2000 are good, when compared to speakers in other stock cars that are less than 25,000 dollars...this basically means that the s2k's speakers suck.
Then again, in order to have a good speaker set up in a convertible, you need speakers that can handle a high powered stereo...this would cost too much for honda to implement in all the s2k's. too bad...upgrade yourself.

I never gave any thought about upgrading the stereo in my S2000 but now that my Accords radio has died I figure I might as well buy a new one for the S and throw the old one in the Accord.
I've never been an audio guy.

I think the stock stereo is at least sufficient. It's the speakers that could be improved upon. If I was going to upgrade the system at all, I would probably get some aftermarket speakers...and that's it. I used to have a big system in one of my older cars. But, I can't stand adding additional weight to a car that has any hint of performance to it.
I think the S2000's stereo system has improved from Awful to Mediocre over the last few years. I guess that's progress.
I like the Boxster's configuration, which reflects sound off the windshield and into the cabin. It works very well for a roadster.
