The rear vins = bumper, trunk, and ____?

If the quarter panels were hit, I would pass, as those are technically "frame" and require major body work/welding/fixing. Not the end of the world if done correctly, but you should shop around.

Price is WAY too high man. You can literally find a deal on a similar car with no damage and same mileage for the same price

Thanks. That was my thinking, too. I am not looking for a project. But I just keep finding problems with every one of them. It seems like 90% have been wrecked or heavily modded. Drove one last night with no muffler but there was no mention of that in the ad. Beyond frustrated.

Does the pic cause y'all any concern? I.e., am I spotting that correctly as rust (probably from road salt) or is that no big deal?

Thanks, y'all. Really appreciate all the god advice I have gotten on here.

This is the northeast. The only way corrosion would sway my decision is if the paint was bubbling on the rear arch or the brake hard lines were in danger. Rusted bolts are for my asshole mechanic to deal with. Maybe he didn't drive in the snow but he drove in the winter with salt on the roads. Road rash bad enough to require respray backs that up. Car definitely sounds like a walker, though. $1000 tires, $1500 soft top, $500-1500 front end respray. The owner is not going to enjoy hearing you counter his offer with a $4000 discount.

RedneckCPA, totally agree with the others...for its issues this car is way overpriced. For not too much more $$ you can get a lower mileage, non-issue, stock S2K.

So... new hour, new post and request for advice. Found a really nice specimen. Talking numbers in the morning. Back and forth has been very pleasant. Honda tech doing full diagnostic first thing tomorrow.

-2007 Silverstone with red/black interior, 40k miles
-Two owners
-Very clean exterior, no wheel curb rash, next to no front end spoiler rash (hard to believe)
-Very clean interior with limited seat wear
-All 10 VINs
-Clean Carfax
-Located in NE so has moderate to heavy "winter effect" on the underbody
-Tires are Dunlop Direzzas with at least 50% tread
-OEM top has no tears
-Asking $24k "based on recent auctions" (I have the auction report and it shows similar all selling at $17-18 max)

What do y'all think? Talking early tomorrow a.m.

Seems like a dealer car, so you should be able to negotiate a little lower price from the $24k asking price, which is not all that bad to begin with for a low mileage/owner '07. Let us know how you make out.

Negotiated down to $22.5k but inspection found it needs rear brakes (2mm), front brakes (4mm) and front lower ball joints. So about $1,200 in "fixes" brings it back to almost $24k. Have to decide by in the morning.

New brakes and ball joints by 40k miles? Hmmmm........sounds like some hard driving'

If it is just pads that need changing, you can do that yourself cheap and easy.

I'd have this guy return this back to stock and see if he'll take 23K for it. Should be a lot closer to you also.

And no rust.
